Oslo is a city where nature and urban life blend harmoniously, offering a wide range of green spaces that bear witness to the evolution of landscape architecture.
From the visionary green infrastructure plans of 1929 to contemporary projects such as the reopening of the Hovinbekken river, the city is demonstrating its commitment to reintegrating nature into the urban fabric. We'll explore projects and parks from different eras, from the Botanical Gardens, a traditional romantic park, to Hydroparken, a modernist landscaping masterpiece combining art, architecture and landscape. Vaterlandsparken, where green spaces meet the industrial heritage of the river Akerselva, and finally we stroll through Frogner Park, Oslo's iconic cultural and landscaping masterpiece. Romantic gardens, pioneering green infrastructure or contemporary ecological restoration, this tour adapts to present the projects that best match your interests, offering a perspective on Oslo's green (and blue) heritage.
